Driving is a privilege, so make sure you are covered with our Pennsylvania Auto Insurance!

For those of us who drive, we all know the road is an unpredictable place to be.  Also, not everyone follows the rules of the road, which makes it difficult to rely on what we know as experienced drivers.  According to the Pittsburgh News, a truck driver making a delivery at a local company took down two power lines Monday morning because he was drunk.  The tractor-trailer crashed into a utility pole, which knocked out power for people in the surrounding area.

The reported accident happened on Washington Street in Heidelberg, near Second Avenue.  The driver, 63-year-old Paul Ryan, had a blood-alcohol level of 0.086 percent, as recorded by the Police.  However, in the state of Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.02 percent for commercial drivers.

"It was kind of a shocking thing.  The driver is here two, three times, four times every other week," exclaimed David Steinberger of Steinberger Floors.  Although Ryan attempted to take a shortcut behind Heidelway Bar & Restaurant, he struck a telephone pole instead.  Officials believe Ryan went to Pittsburgh International Airport to pick up the truck and then drove to Heidelberg with alcohol in his system.  It seemed as though suspicious activity was going on after the crash when Ryan at first refused to get out of the truck.  Additionally, police said they could smell alcohol.  In the end, Ryan was charged with driving under the influence and was released by police to a friend.

From the news story, it is clear that not everyone is qualified to drive.  However, although the road can sometimes be dangerous, it is better to be prepared than not at all.  This is why our Pennsylvania Auto Insurance is perfect for you and your family!  Here at Casper Insurance, we offer affordable car insurance policies.  Our agency is dedicated to providing a personalized customer service experience and we are devoted to assisting you and your personal needs.  Whether you are a first time driver or are re-evaluating your current insurance plan, we take the time to assist you in selecting the perfect policy.  The options we offer to protect your vehicle include: Bodily injury liability, medical or personal injury protection, property damage liability, collision, comprehensive, and uninsured motorist coverage.  Our priority is to keep your family safe on the road, so don’t hesitate, let Casper Insurance keep you secure today!
